Interests
The Prince and The Duchess are both great supporters of the arts.
Their Royal Highnesses regularly attend concerts and theatre shows, which are often fundraising events for charities with which they are affiliated.
This is reflected in The Duchess’s patronage of the London Chamber Orchestra, St Johns, Smith Square, and the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra. Their Royal Highnesses are also Joint Patrons of the restored Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, Yorkshire.
The Duchess is the Patron of Tetbury Film Society which is close to Their Royal Highnesses’ family home at Highgrove.
When at Birkhall, Their Royal Highnesses enjoy fishing and walking in the Scottish countryside and they both share a passion for gardening.
The Duchess also loves riding and has bred horses herself. She keeps two horses at the Highgrove Estate. The horses take part in showjumping, showing, general riding and cross-country trialling.
The Duchess owns two Jack Russell terriers, Tosca and Rosie.
Her Royal Highness supports Soroptimists which is a worldwide organisation of women founded in 1921. It promotes human rights and the status of women and has around 95,000 members across the world.
The Duchess is also a member of the Tetbury Women’s Institute (WI).
